Your Life of Love, Learning,
and Blessing

Hebrews 13

In Chapter 13 of Hebrews the writer gives us his final instructions. This is a chapter of application. The last verses of Chapter 12 teach us to always keep in mind the grace of God revealed in Jesus Christ and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe for our God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:28-29). By coming to God through belief in His Son, we are giving Him the respect and honor He requires. The reference to God as a consuming fire reminds us that He is the same God who led His people out of Egypt through Moses and met with them at Sinai. The good news of the gospel is that this same God now completely accepts us and our worship of Him through Christ. Chapter 13 completes the letter, showing that our worship is not some ceremony or formalism, but a life of love for God’s people, learning from His word, and blessing in service to Him.
